Ghana Armed Forces Announces 2025 Recruitment Across All 16 Regional Capitals

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has launched its 2025 enlistment and recruitment exercise, deploying a decentralized approach across all 16 regional capitals to ensure equal opportunity for eligible applicants nationwide.

In an official press release, GAF outlined that legitimate recruitment information will be communicated exclusively through:

  • Official Ghana Armed Forces websites

  • State-owned newspapers (Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times)

  • Verified military communication channels

The Armed Forces issued a strong warning against fraudulent recruitment adverts circulating on social media platforms, stating unequivocally that "no such enlistment or recruitment invitation will emanate from any member of the Ghana Armed Forces or its High Command."

Prospective applicants are urged to remain vigilant and rely solely on official sources, with GAF calling for public cooperation to maintain the integrity of the recruitment process and prevent exploitation by scammers.

Education Ministry Investigates GH¢15,000 ABUGISS Placement Bribery Allegations

The Ministry of Education has launched an immediate investigation into serious allegations that placement into Aburi Girls' Senior High School (ABUGISS) is being sold for GH¢15,000.

The investigation follows a viral social media post by one Gertrude Adzo Borklo, whose account was deactivated shortly after publication. Deputy Education Minister Dr. Clement Abas Apaak stated the Ministry views the allegation "with the utmost seriousness" and is committed to preserving the integrity of the school placement system.

The Ministry is collaborating with:

  • National Security Secretariat

  • Cyber Security Authority

  • Other relevant agencies

to identify individuals behind what it describes as "conspiratorial narrative designed to create the false impression that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Computerized School Placement System is for sale."

Dr. Apaak categorically stated that "the BECE Computerized School Placement System is entirely free of charge" and urged the public to report any officials or third parties soliciting money for placements through dedicated hotlines: 054 154 8223 (calls) and 024 490 8957 (WhatsApp).

Investor's Insight – GCB Bank Shares Hit All-Time High with 121.35% YTD Gain

GCB Bank shares continue their extraordinary performance, reaching a new all-time high with a 121.35% year-to-date gain. This sustained growth demonstrates strong investor confidence in Ghana's financial sector and the broader economic recovery trajectory.

The developments reflect significant consumer protection victories and institutional strengthening efforts. The DStv price reduction breakthrough represents a substantial win for Ghanaian households, potentially setting precedents for consumer advocacy in other sectors. The savings come at a crucial time when many families are facing economic pressures.

The military's transparent, nationwide recruitment initiative demonstrates institutional learning from past challenges with fraudulent recruitment schemes. By decentralizing the process and clearly communicating official channels, GAF is working to restore public trust and ensure equal opportunity.

The education placement investigation highlights the government's commitment to preserving the integrity of critical public services. The swift response to corruption allegations and establishment of reporting mechanisms show recognition of the need for public confidence in educational institutions.

For investors, GCB's continued strong performance signals confidence in the financial sector's resilience. However, the broader consumer savings from developments like the DStv price reductions could have positive ripple effects on disposable income and economic activity.

The coming weeks will be crucial in implementing these changes effectively and demonstrating tangible benefits to the public while maintaining institutional integrity across sectors.
